Rising Stars Internship Program-Building Career Pathways Through Community Partnerships

06/23/2025

The Omega CDC Rising Stars Internship program is a strategic investment in the futures of Dayton’s graduating seniors, representing an innovative partnership that bridges education, industry, and opportunity.

Through a competitive interview process, six graduates from Dayton Public Schools’ Thurgood Marshall STEM High School have been selected to participate in this unique Summer 2025 experience. These Rising Stars will begin their career journeys with internships in healthcare, engineering, and business, hosted by some of the region’s most respected companies.

This strategy offers a unique blend of real-world experience, professional development, and college scholarship, ensuring that interns are well-equipped (and fast-tracked!) to excel in their chosen careers. Upon successful completion of the program, each intern will receive a $2,500 college scholarship to support their continued education.

Developed in collaboration with Dayton Public Schools and the Strategic Ohio Council on Higher Education (SOCHE), the Rising Stars Internship represents a forward-thinking approach to youth career readiness. By working with local businesses, Omega CDC is helping to establish meaningful pathways that prepare students for long-term success and economic mobility.
