Future Self Day

02/29/2024

High school scholars from Dayton Public Schools, alongside numerous local employers, youth advocates, and higher education institutions, converged at Thurgood Marshall STEM High School for the much-anticipated Hope Zone Future Self Day. This event, dedicated to college readiness and career exploration, was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Omega CDC, Learn To Earn Dayton, Montgomery County Educational Service Center, Dayton Urban Young Life, and Dayton Public Schools.

A notable aspect of the event was the participation of 30 community partners, who generously shared their expertise and resources, enriching the experience for all attendees. More than 50 scholars and their families actively engaged in the opportunities presented.

This event wasn’t merely about disseminating information; it was about illuminating the path forward and instilling a sense of optimism regarding the abundance of prospects awaiting our youth. It highlighted the importance of informed decision-making and strategic planning for a successful future.

On behalf of the organizing committee and all those involved,  Omega CDC extends our gratitude to Learn To Earn Dayton, Montgomery County Educational Service Center, Dayton Urban Young Life, and every partner organization for their unwavering support and dedication. Additionally, sincere appreciation is extended to the scholars and families whose participation made the event successful.

As we reflect on Future Self Day, we are reminded that it takes a collective commitment to nurture the potential of our youth and foster a community where every scholar has the opportunity to thrive.

Hope Lives Here.
