How We Support


RISE Northwest works alongside residents and partners to strengthen housing, neighborhoods, education, economic opportunity, and community wellbeing—building on the assets already present across Northwest Dayton.

Mixed-Income Housing


RISE Northwest expands access to quality housing through development and preservation—supporting new and mixed-income homes while helping residents build stability and remain in their communities.

Our Priorities:

  • Support 50 new homes and 100 mixed-income rental units by 2030
  • 10% increase in owner-occupied housing
  • Connect residents with financial counseling, credit-building resources, and homeownership education to help families achieve long-term stability.
  • Stabilize existing homeowners through the local repair and rehab networks.

Neighborhood Revitalization


RISE Northwest works alongside residents to strengthen the places they call home—supporting safer streets, shared spaces, and neighborhood environments that reflect community pride.

Our Priorities

  • Create safer, cleaner, and more walkable streets
  • Support beautification, greenspace enhancement, and community activation
  • Strengthen small business corridors and neighborhood-serving development

Economic Vitality


RISE Northwest supports pathways to opportunity that help residents increase income, build wealth, and access meaningful careers within a strong local economy.

Our Priorities

  • Increase household income and wealth-building opportunities for residents.
  • Connect residents to skilled trades, apprenticeships, and career pathways through partnerships with local colleges and community programs.
  • Support young people through employment, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with employers to create structured hiring and career pathways.
  • Strengthen local entrepreneurship through technical assistance, mentorship, and access to capital.

Community Wellbeing


RISE Northwest centers resident leadership and connection, supporting spaces, conversations, and shared decision-making that strengthen community wellbeing.

Our Priorities:

  • Activate parks and community green spaces.
  • Host community conversations, activation sessions, and neighborhood events.
  • Provide transparent updates on projects and investments.
  • Elevate resident voices through advisory groups and leadership pathways.

Cradle-to-Career Education


RISE Northwest supports children and families by strengthening educational pathways from early learning through long-term success.

Our Priorities:

  • Partner with Dayton Public Schools to support access to high-quality out-of-school time enrichment programs, including Fairview Elementary School, Edwin Joel Brown Middle School, and Thurgood Marshall STEM High School.
  • Foster partnerships between schools, colleges, and community organizations for wraparound support.
  • Provide tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment opportunities to support student achievement.
  • Equip families with tools and resources that strengthen children’s educational success.

RISE Northwest Development Corporation is a new subsidiary of Omega CDC focused on five neighborhoods in Northwest Dayton: Mt. Vernon, Fairview, College Hill, Hillcrest, and Dayton View Triangle.

Omega CDC will continue serving all 17 neighborhoods in the Hope Zone, while RISE Northwest concentrates more deeply on these five neighborhoods. RISE Northwest is connected to Omega CDC but operates as its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
