Let Us Help:
Future Self Day 2025
04/01/2025On March 20, 2025, the energy at Thurgood Marshall High School was electric. Students filled the halls with excitement and curiosity as they took part in the second annual Future Self Day—an event all about helping them imagine and prepare for life after graduation.
Hosted by Omega CDC in partnership with Dayton Public Schools, Learn to Earn Dayton, and the Montgomery County Educational Services Center, the event brought together students, teachers, and community leaders for a morning packed with real-world conversations and new possibilities. A total of 527 people participated, including 439 students—an impressive 82% of the school’s student body—along with 39 dedicated staff members and 49 representatives from 27 local organizations.
Throughout the day, students moved between breakout sessions, explored a vendor expo, and listened to a panel discussion where professionals shared their personal journeys and answered students’ questions. From college reps and workforce leaders to military recruiters and financial advisors, the event gave students a chance to talk with adults who were there to support and encourage them.
The experience was more than just information—it was about helping students picture a future they can work toward. Whether someone left thinking about applying to college, joining a trade program, or jumping into a career, they left knowing they had options—and people in their corner.
